What is EXS24 INSTRUMENT EDITOR?

What is EXS24 INSTRUMENT EDITOR?

2003-10-03 by hhuang17

Hi there, I'm a new user to Logic 5.5 on Mac OS X and I've recently begun using the
EXS24. I was curious to know what the EXS24 INSTRUMENT EDITOR is, which is
located in the AUDIO menu. I've looked in all the manuals and none of them explain
what it is. It appears to be a way of loading samples (duh). Eventually i would like to
produce IDM music where I would use my own samples to create beats, thus
the instrument editor may be a big help. Hope someone can help.

Thanks!

Henry

EXS24 Manual, page 23. Does a pretty good job of explaining it.

The esx24 instrument editor in the audio menu is another way the
access the exs24 editor page. In this page you select a drum loop or
drum hit place it in the exs24. it then allows you to choose the
keyspan it will use on your trigger keyboard and the keynote of the
sample which is key on the keyboard at which the sample it play at
it's original speed so anything below and above that change the
pitch and spedd of the sample you have loaded into the exs24

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
