Some of the Giga banks that could not fit on one CD-Rom are available on 2
CDs with ".gi!" files, in order to get the full .gig file you need to merge
these ".gi!" files on a PC with GigaStudio. In the new version of CDXtract
Mac, I have implemented a tool that allows you to merge these ".gi!" files
directly on the Mac without GigaStudio.
No need to buy CDXtract for that, this tool is also available in the free
demo version :-)

Seems you had good luck on this one. Having same problem, just
bought eastwest steinway b today , I cannot find no way to install
it to mac osx. Tried stuffit expander, but it didn't work at all.
I first tried ordinary installation of esx24, changing last
charactor to gig then read it from exs24 but I always got error
message that say "you reached end of the files," seems mac cannot
recognize that there is second cd-rom exsists that is pair with
first cd-rom.

Then tried stuffit expander, but that program didn't recognize giga
files at all.

Ad, how could you get successful result?

Hi

Good news, bad news

The good news is that i had the same kind of problem with the
voices of the apocalypse library and i did find a way out.
Bad news, it s not easy....

You will have to find a friend who s got a PC, have him expand
the files and then burn a CD (or should i say many...) with the
expanded files. For an unknown reason, mac have a hard time
understanding a file starting on a disk and finishing into another,
wich of course the PC does without a glitch. Once the file is in
one piece, the mac should be able to read it.

Good Luck guys

bit old topic, but I finally find the solution of this problem.
This types of error happens when the library cd-rom come with more
than 2, after reading first cd-rom, esx24 cannot start reading
second cd-rom.

The solution is copy files to HDD, then connet them by using command
prompt. here is the tric.

Mac user

start "Terminal", which is in the "Utilities" folder
under "Applications".

The command you want to use is:

cat FileName1.gi1 FileName2.gi2 > NewName.gig

It is probably easiest if you place the files on your desktop if you
do
then once you start Terminal you will be in your home folder then
type:

cd Desktop

Futher info is avairable here
http://www.xs4all.nl/~loekjehe/Split&Concat/

Win users

Start command prompt from accessary,

type
copy /b FileName1.gi! + FileName2.gi! NewName.gig

Then move the file to sampler folder, then read it from ESX24.

Hope this info helps.

Strange bass patches

2004-02-11 by Mark

I've noticed this with some converted AKAI bass patches - some of the
instruments seem to have a cyclical volume dynamic where it cycles
between 100% and 0% volume. I can't figure out which of the
envelope/filters/buttons is enabling it on the EXSP24. I'm not much of
a sampler expert yet.

What is the most likely setting that's causing this?

Thanks,
Mark

Mark,

I experienced the same stuff with some Akai and SF2 files I
converted. What I normally do is disable all the modulation routings,
and add my own. Of course I have the full version of the EXS, so for
me its the modulation matrix. But for you, it will be the LFO
routings. Try setting the LFO 1 slider next to the Level slider (to
the right of the interface) to zero.
