exs vs. mach 5

exs vs. mach 5

2003-11-16 by manexmachina

I've seen some discussion about how exs is "way behind" and as someone coming to
logic 6 fresh from scratch and will be using EXCLUSIVELY virtual instruments
combined with audio... is the mach 5 perhaps a better choice... does it integrate as
well into logic as exs? or near?

thanks in advance

Its streaming performance is great, and you can run 64 of them on one
machine - i.e. it's extremely efficient. That's "way behind?!"

Certainly Kontakt has more slice/dice features, Halion lets you apply
on-the-fly DSP to individual samples in a program, etc. etc., but
they all have their strengths.

Take everything you read on the internet with a grain of salt!

I haven't used it and can't say, but if you're using Logic, it's not
a bad idea to start with EXS and see how far you get.
