Mike,

I received my order last week. Basically I've loaded the piano & latin
percussion, and have used the piano for a couple of bg tracks and only
hit a couple of keys for the latin percussion; I have yet to load the
drumset CD. I thought the piano was fine, but it was also quick and
dirty recording so I didn't take any time on it. Regardless, for what
you get for the $99 I don't think you can go wrong.

Regards,

Shane

With 1.256 gigs of RAM in my G4 and no "virtual memory" on the EXSP, I can't
load the XXL sample sets to test the best of the piano. It sounds a little
too processed to my ears. It has a "sparkly" quality that makes it sound
not as intimate on soft passages as the Splendid Grand samples from Akai.

I don't have much to compare it too as this was my first piano sample for t=
he exs or
any streaming based sampler, but if you cut the cutoff filter way, way down=
, the piano
sounds very convincing. This is the first time a sample has ever made me f=
eel I was
playing a real instrument. I actually look forward to playing classical pi=
eces again!
For me it's in a differen't league than the Emu, Roland, Kurzweil, and othe=
r hardward
based pianos I've played.

However, nothings perfect...
There's a bit too much resonance in the c4 to c5 register, imho, as if they=
 were trying
to go overboard in the realism category.

I haven't been able to modify it into a smooth, dark, Bill Evans type of ja=
zz sound or a
bluesy black crowes type of sound, but for everything else it is pretty awe=
some. I
especially like the soft piano (full quality with resonance) for slow balla=
ds.

If someone has a work around for the issues above or a suggestion for a
complementary piano sample, please email me.

Anyway, I'm very happy with all three pieces in the wizoo package...what a =
deal.

Cheers,

Will
