Hi Jos,
I had the same problem when I used LAP 4.6......from the moment I upgraded
to 4.7 everything was fine and scanning all  my EXS Instruments, which are
about 16 Gb, takes only a few seconds. May be that helps you.

I am using Logic Platinum 4.7, so that shouldn't be the problem.....
