Akai convert LAWP 4.7

Akai convert LAWP 4.7

2001-03-29 by Arvid Solvang

Just converted a whole AKAI-cd with the 4.7 version of EXS24 sampler. Worked
great.

I still can't find anywhere to choose where I want the audiofiles to go
though.
They always end up in the C:\Program Files\emagic\Logic Audio 4.0
Platinum\AKAI samples-folder with folders named VOLUME 01, VOLUME 02, etc...

What happenes if I want to convert a new CD now.
Will they owerwrite the old files?
Will they also be called VOLUME 01, VOLUME 02, etc...?

I have innstalled a 45Gb IBM drive that I'm just going to use for samples.
How can I move the already converted samples over there and also convert new
CD's directly to that drive the next time?

BTW: When you choose subfolder in the convert windo that seemes to only work
for the esx files. The actual wave files aren't created in a similar
subfolder.
Why?

For all the samples that you already have installed in "c:/program
files/emagic/logic audio/akai samples"
and that you try after to move manually in a new Directory, then the EXS24
will have to search again for the new location of all the samples you moved
(the location of the samples is automatically store in the corresponding
"exs" instrument file after detection).
To avoid to have to move manually your samples, you have first to create a
new folder "AKAI Samples" in the location/hard drive you want it to be
located.
Then, you have to create a Shortcut of it that you will rename exactly "AKAI
Samples" and that you will put in "c:/program files/emagic/logic audio/".
Don't forget to delete the original folder "c:/program files/emagic/logic
audio/akai samples" so that only the Shortcut is in there.
Now, each time you will convert an AKAI CD, the samples will be
automatically put in the folder that your "AKAI Samples" shortcut is
pointing at.

It's like a Shortcut on PC. And with these shortcuts, you can put your "AKAI
samples" fodler, your "exs24 instruments" folder or even your "VST plugins"
folder in any location/HD you want.
