Xtreme Analog Presets crash exsp24 in Logie Audio 6.3.1

Xtreme Analog Presets crash exsp24 in Logie Audio 6.3.1

2004-01-25 by thrang66

I had posed this in the general emagic group, then discovered this group, which
seems more appropriate for my question. Sorry for the duplicate post in both groups.

I purchased Big Box, installed Logic Audio, did the 6.3.1 update, and all is
fairly well.

However, I went to install the Xtreme Analog CD, and it does not include an OS X

installer. I follwed the directions to manually install the files, including
placing the
presets in the exsp24 folder in Logic 6 Series > Plugin Settings. Since I'm
trying o the
exs24 demo, I also installed a copy of the presets in that plug in folder.

The Xtreme Analog Samples data folders are in Users > Shared > EXSP24Samples
and,
because I'm trying the demo module of the exs24, in Logic 6 Series > EXSamples

The Basic Waveforms Sampler instruments are in Logic 6 Series > Sampler
Instruments

There is an alias, Sampler Instruments, (which I did not create) in Library >
Application Support > emagic

The crash: In Logic, when I open the exsp24 synth, selecting any of the presets
that
appear in the triangular pop-down menu causes Logic to crash. The actual voices
are
accessible from the synth's black pop-up window.

In the exs24 synth, selecting a preset does not cause the app to crash, but the
synth's
information readout says MISSING: Basic Synth, (or whatever voices it can't
find). The
parameters of the preset load, but it only plays the default voice.

Yowza...

Help, if anyone can

thanks

What computer are you using? What configuration? RAM? OS? I had a
similar problem, could not find various samples on the hard drive.
Called Emagic, and they pointed me to a download of the Xtreme Analog
for OSX files. Still no dice. Then I realized if the Xtreme Analog CD
was in the drive of the computer, all the samples loaded up. Bottom
line is it NEVER worked with my powerbook. On another powerbook or
desktop, it worked fine. It only works on my powerbook if I have the
samples on the external drive. Even with a reformat and clean install
of the OS, it never worked. Try those things....If all else fails,
call Emagic tech support, they were very helpful.

Thanks - I'm using a dual 2 ghz G5, Panther 10.3.2 - 1.5 gb of RAM - all files located
on the primary hd - tried with and without the CD in the drive.

Might you have the link for the OS X files from emagic? I'm trying to reach them, but
the phone is almost always busy....

thanks

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
