I am having a weird problem where the notes are getting cut short on all
kinds of samples.  This is regardless of patch, looping, etc.  In fact,
sometimes when I open a song everything is fine, then once I play, the
problem appears and reloading the instrument has no effect.

Has anyone dealt with this???  It is incredibly frustrating.  I wonder
if my controller is spitting out some strange data maybe it is a pref.
file issue.  Aaaarrrrrrrrgh.

     Hello.  Perhaps increasing the polyphony of the EXS instrument 
to 64(max) will remedy the notes being cut short.  I had this problem 
when programming marcato string runs, where multiple (40+) samples of 
one note would ring out and overlap the attack of the previous 
notes.  This was decieving because one would think 32 or so notes of 
polyphony would do, but try kicking it up to 64 and see if this fixes 
the problem.  I hope it does.  Cheers.

Yeah, I tried that. But thanks.  I don't think it is a polyphony thing.
Even with just one note played live, the sample just cuts off about 2/3
the way through (maybe at the loop point??? I haven't checked).  I hoped
it was one of those things that other people had dealt with...  FWIW, I
am using ESB and an HD2 system.

Nathan, it isn't something silly like disk streaming being turned 
off, is it? (Under Options at the upper right.) If not, you might 
play with the settings.

Barring that, I'd suggest reinstalling things.

By the way, someone called me yesterday with the same problem on a 
PC, so you're not alone. Please post the answer if you figure it out!

Hi Nick.  Yeah, I have been playing with the VM settings and it seems to
kick it in the butt for a while.  Not forever though.  But I think that
it is a disk not-streaming issue.  VM is on but sometimes restarting it
or changing disk speed to slow, and heavy activity (or whatever they
call it) does the trick.  

So much of this stuff is undocumented.  What is 'strong mode' in TDM,
for example?  Personally I don't think I would want 'not strong mode'
any more than I would want regular strength aspirin but that's just me.
