Does EXS Always Look Like This?

Does EXS Always Look Like This?

2004-02-22 by John Lee

I just posted a screen shot in the Photo section of the EXS Users site. Can someone take a
look at the photo and tell me if this is unusual?
Here's the link.

John, what you've got here is the EXS instrument editor. To see the
regular interface you need to first insert the EXS on an audio
instrument channel, in the same way as you would for any other virtual
instrument - then double click to open the EXS interface.

Hi John Lee

You need to spend some time learning how to run software instruments in logic.

A quick browse through the manual should help you.

You are opening the EXS24 instrument editor, not the actual plugin.

also if you do a net search for the logic faq (try google) there are pretty comprehensive instructions on getting instruments working in logic.

Thanks for all the replies on this. I had a feeling the deal was
inserting it as an audio instrument, but I haven't been able to figure
out that step. I have spent some time with the manual on this, but I am
obviously missing something.
I am using the EXSP 24 Manual. Kinda hard to get parts of it when the
documentation is written for Logic 5 and all of the illustrations are
in the OS 9 interface look.
I will keep working on this.
Thanks again!!!

Well, you need the logic manual rather than the EXS manual, this is
general logic use, rather than something specific to the EXS. Select an
Audio Inst track, double click it to see the channel strip for the
track, then click and hold the button immediately beneath the "I/O"
legend, this will give you a popup menu of the instruments available,
from which you can select the EXS.
Hope that helps!
