Gig & Akai Samples???

2004-03-18 by phillymaestro

Can some1 explain how do I get LAMP 6.3.3 (OS 10.3.2) to see my gig and akia samples?
Where do I put the samples? What folder? Do the go in the EXSP Sample instrument folder?
Do I 1st creat a new folder and put all the gig & akai sample in there 1st and then put that
new folder in the EXS Smaple Instruments folder???

Help!!!

IF you're really talking about the *samples*, i.e. the audio files:
those can go anywhere on your system, and the EXS will find them. As
for the instrument files (.exs): these should be put in the Sampler
Instruments folder inside the Logic application folder.

With Giga, just copy the .gig files to the Sampler Instruments folder and
open them in EXS. As it does the translation, EXS will put the samples into
the DLS-Giga folder inside the Logic program folder, or an alias of it if
you create one. As Hendrik pointed out, you can then move the sample files
anywhere you wish.

I haven't done an Akai disk in a long time, but I believe it works in a
similar way---except that you have to use the Akai import function to read
an Akai CD.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
