I'm looking for a good quality, looong sample of a bell tree, one that
has a descending pitch (from high to low) in any sampler format.

>>the EW platinum percussion library has a good bell tree and a good
mark tree, the old Korg M1 actually had a good bell tree sample. Might
be cheaper to buy one and sample it.
Good luck

Hi Paul. I have had good luck with searching online sound effect libraries
for this kind of thing. In fact, I think I have a sound much like what you
are looking for. You can license it, I think, from www.sounddog.com

I assume you're indeed talking about a belltree (like this:
http://www.rhythmweb.com/images/belltree.jpg) yes? Not some chimes
(http://www.cottagesoft.com/~songbird/perc/chimes02.jpg) or so... I remember
quite some people mixing them up.

In case you need some chimes, here's some unsorted ones:
http://home.arcor.de/s.franck/exs/Chimes.mp3
(quality is 96kbps/mono, which is as good as 192kbps/stereo)

Sorry, there's nothing like the standard glissando down effect, but maybe
you could edit things a bit. Also, recording quality isn't exactly superb,
but hey...

Cheers,
Sascha

thank you all for your help
i haven't *quite* found what i'm looking for on the web sites you suggested
and i'm not in a position to purchase a huge orchestral library
(i'm still a non-profitable home musician).
anyway, i have found a semi longish descending glissando treebell in the
reason orchestra library which was close enough, and i have found another
ascending one in my exs instruments, which I reversed.
I layered them together and it gave me a sufficient result. you can hear it
by the way here http://www.polar-pair.com/mp3/yeah_axla.mp3 (the sound is
more noticeable at the very end of the track)

as for your offer matt, that would actually be very very nice of you, if
you can be bothered doing this.
thanks so much for your kind offer!!

g,day mate,

ok on Distorted Reality 2, disk 1 0f 2 (akai) partition f / Gothic / there is some
bellfree type big ben bells, when inserted into Exs24 or and sampler, going up and down the scale gives a bellfree (not belltree) effect $:-{- FVZ
