This is why God created mixers, no?

Of course! :o)

But I haven't yet managed to con God into providing me with all the
gear I'd like, e.g. a mixer that's high-quality enough to add no noise
to the signal. So until I find out exactly which prayer accomplishes
this, i figure it'd be best to bypass my el-cheapo mixer whenever I
digitize a synth part, non? ;-)

Mais non. Vous avez demandez les questions in the context of whether
to get an 828 for a few hundred bucks so you could have multiple
outputs. A used Mackie CR1202 - $100? - is plenty quiet for submixing
synthesizers.

Not quite. Multiple INputs.

Not in Australia, mon ami.

Mais oui, but space is also an important consideration. I'd rather treat
the back of my current mixer and the back of a 2-input audio thingie
(e.g. Mbox, US-122) as a patchbay than have to rearrange my rack, desk
and powerboards.

And, as mentioned in another post, I'm hoping the sale of Mbox and
current mixer will pay for an 828. Problem solved! (Fingers crossed!!!)

Cheers, Bill, whose complete French vocab has just been displayed ;-)

Ah oui. J'ai un 828 de MOTU, le premiere edition, et il et tres bon.

Et maintenant je fermai la bouche, parce-que j'ai exhaust mon
vocabulaire complte aussi.

Sprechen sie Deutsche? Nicht Mir.

I can still understand you though. :o) Funny how French to English is
easier than the other way round for someone who hasn't studied it for...
vingt-six ans.

Ein bichen, but let's not go there! =:-O
