At wizoo.com there is a collection of string samples from Caudius Breuse that seems like a good buy and is useful. You can buy the whole set of samples or you can buy instrument sections in particular articulations one by one.

I've tried the Siedlaczek orchestra samples and was disappointd, so last year 
I invested in the Vienna Symphonic Library (www.vsl.co.at or at www.ilio.com) 
  and I gotta tell ya, they are AMAZING.   Go to the VSL site and listen to 
the demos. They'll blow your mind.
