No CC control in modulation matrix

No CC control in modulation matrix

2004-10-13 by Peter Ostry

While trying a new input device (ribbon controller) I wanted to control
something in the modulation matrix of the EXS. Looks simple enough -
select cutoff as destination and control #80 as source. But nothing
happens. Of course, just for cutoff I can also control by fader
messages but I want to do other stuff involving the matrix.

I can control the hold parameter (upper left corner) bbut nothing in
the matrix. Tried reseting all MIDI devices, cabled directly to the
channelstrip but the matrix does not respond to control messages. What
am I missing?

2 possibilities jump out at me:

a) Make sure that the track that the EXS is on is in Record Enable mode
(the R button is red)

b) Move the green arrow up or down (modulation amount) in the
respective parameter field of the matrix

Good luck,

Ned

Thank you, works now - ribbon controller as source or as "via".
I believe it was an incorrect setting of the modulation amount.
Centered arrow or at least on the wrong position.
