could anyone tell me how i can upgrade exs to exs2 using os9 and
4.8.2 (i know....)

First of all 4.8.1 was the last version before 5, so I assume you're on 
4.8.1, not 4.8.2. Anyway, EXS MKII is a part of Logic 5.5 and 6.x 
(including Pro), so I'm afraid the only option for you to upgrade the 
sampler is to buy Logic 4 to Pro upgrade, yes, I know it's a bit steep, 
but it's worth every penny IMHO if you want to stay with 9 and 
therefore don't need L7.
