Whys?

Greetings 1. Why does the EXS not play newly loaded samples until you save the instrument (which takes 70 seconds on my G4 DP 1.25) and reload it ( about 10 seconds)? This means you can't play the sample to find out its pitch without going into the waveform editor. None of the multi-sampled instruments I want to import have notes named in the files. 2.Why does the Project Manager give me red triangles on some samples and not others when I do a scan or a Find Unresolved Files, when both load happily, although slowly, and play properly. I thought it might be because the samples are nested too deep in folders. But PM won't move them if they're red, and if I move them by hand, PM still won't find them however many scans and Find Unresolved Files I try. I know i can buy Redmatica whatsit, but this is what Project manager is supposed to do, isn't it? 3. Why is the keyboard allocation for new samples so restrictive i.e. there is no bulk allocation into a preprepared template. 4. Why, if I type C4 into the Key Note box, does it show C3 (60) and why does this behaviour not change according to the setting of "Show Middle C as C3 (Yamaha?). (I don't have transposition set on the arrange page). On the sampler i owned TWENTY years ago, you could select a sample with the cursor - it played, if that was you preference, and then the next three notes you played assigned key note and range. By now you'd think the damned machine would be capable of analysing the pitch of the sample and automatically assigning it to the correct note, instead of this laborious process - and yes I've got key commands for all the zone moving features. The EXS has got some impressive features, but being quick to create new instruments isn't one of them. Regards Brian (OS 9.2.2. Logic 6.3.1)
