Unfortunately I doubt either is possible.
The old EXS authorization scheme (CD check) doesn't work anymore since
version 5.x and the new version is now an exclusive part of LogicPro.

Maybe you could get a discount on updating to Pro...
After all, a really weird and unpleasant situation I must say.
