Describe the difference between the OLD LADY and the EMPEROR They are quite different, The Emperor being more contemporary sounding (my opinion). To untrained ears a piano is a piano but if you have followed any of the piano threads on this site lately you have probably noticed that opinions may vary (contender to understatement of the year). The whole groupbuy of Old Lady and later Emperor came out of a thread about which piano sounded the best of all the ones around. I have a tendency (another understatement) to buy more than I need and I have maybe 10 different pianos and to tell you the truth after adding them in a mix and leaving it alone for a couple of months it stops mattering which piano it was, they all (all being the pile of recent multilayered pianos) sound good. One might argue that if you had the Emperor you could make it sound Old Ladish by rolling of a bit of highend and viceversa of course. Old Lady and Emperor both sound terrific and with a little EQ they both go a long way. If you need an old sounding piano I wouldn´t choose the Old Lady just because the title has the word old in it. For an old sounding one the Art Vista Malmsjö is a very good choice, instant 78 jazz-records for you right there. Henrik Krogh [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
