Kalimba samples

2004-12-14 by jltfour

Would appreciate any recommendations for very natural sounding
Kalimba samples. I have Heart of Africa in Roland format, and they're good, but
maybe a little too neat and not quite present enough.
Thanks,
jack turner

why don't you dirty them up a bit and equalize them?

The most natural that I can think of is the real instrument. I have
three of them lying around. They are very different in tone and pitch. I
bought these in a third world trade shop, don't know if you have them
over there. Don't cost much and are fun to play. You can retune them so
that they follow a western scale if you like.
Sometimes I use them in songs, to add to a groove or to double a melody.

I second that comment. I bought one for less than 20 US. Again, we
don't know how big your town is, but they're usually not hard to find.

Good luck,

Ned
