There are about a dozen different IDE RAID 0/1 solutions out there. I
bought the Promise FastTrakTX2 for about $100. It uses two Ultra ATA/100
drives. Check it out:

Working great for me in RAID 0 mode with two 30GB 7200 rpm IBM drives.

Promise also makes a RAID 5 IDE controller for about $400, if you want to
go totally nuts. IDE RAID is a beautiful thing because it gets an
incredible amount of bang out of cheap hardware -- a fast 120GB storage +
30GB parity system possible for about $1100.
