Can anyone explain why Logic won't let me instanciate SD on an empty aux object before I route anything from EXS editor to it? It just displays an empty window with no way to choose a preset or anything. Can do it on a bus, but not on an aux. Is it a bug or a feature? Just curious.

Best,

Andy

I just tried calling up a Space designer on a blank aux object in a
blank autoload and it worked fine. I didn't have anything assigned to
the aux's input.

Maybe the fact that you were working with an open multichannel EXS
instrument had something to do with it???

Same here and it won't let me do it... Weird... What gives?

Best,

Andy

Just to rule out unlikely but easy to check things: Try doing it in a
fresh blank autoload and see if the problem persists.

Yeah, that did it, thanks Eli. So this means my autoload is screwed up, right? Weird... OK, now should I redo the song I'm working with from scratch or what? No answer needed :-) .

Best,

Andy

Humour me: try it in your problem song and try the following things:

* Try it in a blank screen set with no other windows open
* Make sure no EXS editor windows are open anywhere
* Try it from the audio configuration window
* delete your undo list
* Reorganize the memory in the transport bar
* Try opening the Space Designer on a different aux
object/channel/number

All these things will take a only minute and are way easier to try than
rebuilding your whole song.

Nah, that didn't work. The only easy thing that did the trick was deleting an aux object and creating a new one... Weird, all I can say. Anyway, thanks a lot for trying to help me out.

Best,

Andy
