Being a newbie to Logic's
Environment, I am therefore lost. I've got the Aux channel setup for
audio playback, but how do I create an Audio *Instrument* to control
the EXS--or how do I access it?

Hi,
Go in the "Audio env..." do "New audio Instrument" that's all.....
The fader appears, just insert an EXS...

Thanks Igor. Problem is, while looking at my 'Audio' Environment
layer, the New menu only has Audio Object at the bottom, and MIDI
instruments near the top. There is no "Audio Instrument" as described
on the EXS' CD jacket quick start blurb (this is LAMP 4.7.2). Am I
looking at the wrong menu?

I finally solved it by making a new Audio Object, double-clicking on
it to make the fader, and setting it to Aux 1-2, then inserting an
EXS at the top. Originally, I didn't know that I only had to select
this Audio Object in the Arrange window to feed MIDI to it..

I saw that in another thread during a search of the Logic-Users
archive. Of course, I just shut down the Logic machine.. How exactly
do you switch it to an "Audio Instrument?" (Just making sure. :)

Once u've created an audio Instrument u can have access to the "Parameters"
on the Left.
In this "Parameters" section, u can choose what the Track is use for...
Audio Track, audio Instruments etc....Midi, etc....
