transposing audio...

transposing audio...

2005-02-11 by tony vincent

i¹m trying to transpose audio... i see the ³time and pitch machine² option
in the sample edit->factory submenu, but i can¹t discern how to get it to
tune in ³cents²... i want to transpose in 1/2 steps... is there some
calculation i¹m missing out on? an easier way than the time-pitch option?

I've replied to this question on the Logic users forum, but if you are
asking re: EXS then it's a whole differnt question.

Are you after transposing tha actual sample (audiofile) which you would
do using the factory t & p machine as you say, or after playback
transposition in EXS which you can do in the zone or the instrument
parameters globally for the instrument?

Hi

First, this is not an EXS question, you should have posted it on the logic
userforum.

Second, it s written very clearly in the manual (reference manual logic 7,
page 403-407).

I really don t want to sound harsh or snobish, but please use the forum for
bugs, crash or obscured fonction (not well documented) related questions.
If we start posting every single question, soon enough it will lose it s
essence, wich is helping people who tried everything (including reading a
boring manual) and still can t come up with a solution or answer.
Again, I m not trying to insult or bash you, please take it as a
constructive critiscism.

Not EXS, like Mr. Gramophone said, but:
100 cents = one half-step

Yes, Pitch Shifter for example. But that is more an effect, not for
natural or clean tones. The Pitch Correction plugin could be an option
if you can use it in this case. Time/pitch factory works well for a
semitone but is destructive.
