EXS 24 Logic Sampler Users Group

Hi,

I've just completed the setup of a GI-20 MIDI converter into Logic from a
custom slide guitar that uses a microtonal (justly intoned) scale. It's
working well with the EXS24, but the samples provided by Logic 6.4.1 are
limited, so now I would like to find other EXS samples, specifically for
acoustic instruments that do well with pitch bend; - instruments that
commonly slide smoothly from note to note, rather than make obvious
discrete changes.

The default ones with Logic 6.4.1 that seem to work well so far are the
horns and some strings. So perhaps for starters I'm looking for sax,
trumpet, bass viol, cello, violin, and others of those families.

Can anyone direct me to libraries of samples appropriate for the EXS 24
that might have good quality samples of such instruments?

It would be nice to find some free or shareware ones while I'm
experimenting, but I expect to pay eventually for quality recordings of
good acoustic instruments, once I find out which ones will work best with
this setup.

I'm a new member of this group (I've been on the LUG for a couple of
years), and have just spent an hour perusing the files and links for EXS24
samples - I didn't know about them when I wrote the above. But it still
seems overwhelming to figure out where to start. Any pointers appreciated.
