Greetings, Though I've had logic for years, I've only started making use of EXS recently, thanks to my new G5. Out of curiousity, are their any sources of free online samples for EXS? Any "mother lodes" I should be aware of? Thanks, -Mark

Don't forget the EXS will import soundfonts as well. A good place to start looking for them: www.hammersound.net - has gazillions. - Sascha

After visiting www.hammersound.net and downloading a bass which is a .sf2 file compressed into a .rar format which opened with no problem, I placed it in the exs sample instrument folder as directed and the exs does not see it. Any suggestions. I'm on Logic 6.4.3. and have been told to get Logic Pro 7 but I'm not going to do that. Will soundfonts work with my system? What's up with soundfonts that some do and some don't work? Thanks Wayne

This is really quite a long list! If anyone actually has the time to go through all of that looking for good, useful sounds it would be super cool if they share best of lists for each type of sound...

I agree; isn't there some list of well known "must-haves"? There seem to be so many less-than-professional soundfonts out there, and no way to weed out the good from the bad, other than downloading and installing so many of them.
