searching for decent samples!

searching for decent samples!

2005-11-27 by Bob Shuster

I can't be the only one using Logic for this! :-) I use Logic primarily to
audition music I compose for live musicians to perform, mainly in the large
ensemble jazz realm. I'm having a heck of a time finding a decent
collection of EXS24 instruments to suit this purpose, specifically - trumpet
(with and without mutes), flugelhorn, trombone (with and without mutes),
bass trombone (with and without mutes), and saxophones from soprano to
baritone. From time to time I also need clarinet, bass clarinet, flute,
alto flute, English horn, oboe, & French horn. Strings (for this purpose)
I've been able to find, as well as good rhythm section instruments, but not
good versions of the instruments above.

*Somebody* must have a collection of quality samples created for this
purpose. Any suggestions? Anything I've found seems to be orchestral, and
even then they don't include saxes.

Thanks - Bob

Here you go:

http://www.garritan.com/jazz.html

I've never used it but it looks good - I'm planning to check it out
soon...

if you buy it, please report how you like it!

Ah!
I was waiting for this!
Check out the MOTU orchestral sample-player!
- it's increadibly cheap - for the value... ( 269 € )

Although - the saxes suck for big major points !!!
- I have no idea why they did it like this.... ?!
( maybe it was a saxophone-player that did the library, and he wanted
to make sure that he will be called in for the studio-sessions! )

I have a few saxophones available, most in demo form at the moment but
hoping to release them as full versions soon
