EXS 24 Logic Sampler Users Group

Feel like a bit of an interloper as I'm a mere EXSP user, but I'm hoping you guys can help.

I use EXSP with Logic Express which, since v.6 has lost the ability to 'sidechain'. This is 
something I never used, but now it's gone I need to create a vocoder-like effect for a vocal - 
there are recognisable words in the vocal so I can't just use a 'choir'' sample.

So: two questions:

1. Can the 'sidechain' function be used to route vocals through the EXSP to treat them in a 
vocoder-like way?

2. Now that Logic Express doesn't support sidechaining is there any way to get round this to 
achieve the effect I'm after?
