old software - new libraries?

old software - new libraries?

Hello,
I've got aproblem because of my old equipment and my search
for suitable sample-libraries.

My computer: i-Mac(Snow) DV-SE 500 MHz G3, 256 MB,
             Mac OS 9.0.4 - 9.2.2;
  sequencer: Logic Audio Gold 4.6;
  sampler: EXS24 1.0.

How is it possible to upgrade to a newer Logic version
like 6?
What are the system-requirements of it?
May I get/buy a key for logic 6?

Another point of thinking:
If I'd buy one of the new available sample-libraries made
for EXS24, for instance "Advanced Orchestra Extended" or
"Ethno World 2", would the old version 1.0 be able to read
them? It wouldn't be necessary to make all new features
working, but could I use the sample-instruments?

Who can help a little?

Yours - Titus

Logic 6 is no longer available, in fact Logic 7 was released over two years ago. Furthermore, AFAIK, there is no upgrade path offered from versions of logic older than 5.

The requirements for Logic 7 are listed here, with a G4 as minimum:

Only second hand, but be very careful that any offers you may find are genuine, and remember that there is no support for versions of Logic older than 7, nor for XSkeys which haven't a 7 authorisation. If you do happen to find a second hand logic 5 or 6, you can then upgrade to 7.

Just FWIW, some of the libraries I tried don't sound too good on my
4.8.1 system on a nuBus machine...

Best,
