I think you are referring to libraries that come with an installer
that is supposed to install your EXS and sample files. (Actually,
more likely they install Giga files.) What library are you referring to?

If that's the case, the .EXE file is a Windows installer. Many Giga
libraries came this way; the .exe file is actually a RAR installer.
If so, the trick is to open the .exe with StuffIt Expander.

Doesn't the library you have come with instructions?

I'll just second the redmatica software on this... this will sound
like a product endorsement, take that how you like, but what a huge
timesaver that was. I figure even at minimum wage the software paid
for itself in one shot of library cleanup.
It took about an hour to buy, install, and run it. then I left the
room. I was looking at at least a hundred hours of sampler work that
had gotten moved and disconnected from the exs.
plus I haven't had a sample not found message since I started using
it. not one.

Agreed. EXSManager is essential if you have even a fairly large
sample collection.
Redmatica now has an AMAZING new app called KeyMap - I'd advise any
serious EXS-samplist to look at it.
You can drag whole folders of sample into KeyMap and it will map all
of them according to the original pitch, or sample names etc. Even
this is a huge time-saver but it does a whole lot more. I'm still
working through the KeyMap manual and I'm very impressed....
