Yes, within limits.
The baseline question is: what parameters are global to the
Instrument, and what parameters are on the Group or Zone level?
You can find these things out by looking in the EXS24 Instrument
Editor, and by looking on the Spaceship (the main interface). All the
parameters in the Spaceship are the global Instrument ones. The ones
in the Editor are the non-global ones.
You will notice that these can be set on a
per-sample/group-of-samples basis (not all are listed below):
Volume
Tuning
Panning
Looping
Voices
Cutoff Frequency
Resonance
Amp Attack
Amp Hold (Logic 7.2+)
Amp Decay
Amp Sustain
Amp Release
Filter Attack (Logic 7.2+)
Filter Hold (Logic 7.2+)
Filter Decay (Logic 7.2+)
Filter Sustain (Logic 7.2+)
Filter Release (Logic 7.2+)
These are global:
LFO settings
Modulations
XFade setting
Filter Type
Filter On-Off
So you see, there's a lot that is not global, but there is enough
that is global (especially the modulations) that it makes things a pain.
From your question, I see that you can probably fit your needs into
one Instrument, perhaps with a compromise or two.
