EXS 24 Logic Sampler Users Group

I'm new to the group, new to the EXS24 and new to sampling.  Is the 
concept of "groove control" by Spectrasonics as cool as it sounds?  
And if so, has anyone with a Mac tried converting the AKAI version of 
Liquid Grooves with the EXS?  As it has been mentioned, it would be 
nice to save $ and not have to buy translator or CDxtract.  (Although 
if I get either, the Chicken Sys guy is going to get my dough merely 
due to his presence on this board, assuming the two products are 
similar...)

I've not much money to spend on samples and am interested in 
drums/bass/brass.  Any personal recommendations for use with 
"acoustic rock" please let me know.  Thanks in advance.
