EVP 88 extra patches

EVP 88 extra patches

2001-10-16 by Lee Jones

I recently downloaded a whole new set of presets for the EVP88.
I have no idea how to install them as they are not recognised even when I
load presets as normal, and in no way are they available to the facia dial
menu.
Help please

Hi Lee

Have you tried putting them in the plugin settings directory for the EVP88
and then opening them via the little down arrow next to the bypass button
at top left?

BTW Where did you get the new presets from -- Yahoo files area?

Regards,
Murray

Yes, where did you get these? This is exactly the kind of thing the list
appreciates hearing about. Please do not keep it a secret...

Hi Jer
I got the patches from a Hotline site. Which I cannot remember.
I¹ll stuff them and email them to anyone who asks.
They are in the form of simple text files. I have not been able to use them
yet as I don¹t know how to make the evp see them.
Some one suss it out as I¹d like to use them now!!!!
Peace
Lee

Thanks a lot.

I noticed that patches in text forma for the LM4 are not readable on the Mac
within Logic. Perhaps this is the same kind of problem. Send them to me, and
I'll give it a go. Thanks.

Lee,

Try giving the patches a dos extension, the same one
as your other working evp patches. I dunno the exact
extension for evp instruments but EXS24 files have a
.exs extension and es1 files have a .pst extension.

I'd also like a copy of the files if you don't mind.

best of luck Lee,

Anthony Soler

They may need filetyping. Get TechTool Lite [which no mac should be
without anyway] from http://www.micromat.com. Open one of the default
EVP patches in the File Lab utility. add the type/creator to the current
list with the buttons next to the Type and Creator codes. Then open the
'simpletext' patches and apply the same type/creator. Save. Then drop
them in a new folder inside the EVP88 folder in the Plugin-settings
folder in the Logic folder. If they are the right data format they
should work.

Well they are there in mine. Perhaps they weren't installed properly in
yours, or perhaps you have the EVP73 VST plugin.

Well....they should be!
Mine are in:
(drive name)/Logic Audio Platinum 4.0 Ÿ/Plug-In Settings/EVP88/
All the factory presets are in folders like <Electra Pianos> etc etc

Anyway, the data for all plug-in settings are (on Mac)
File type: EM9S
Creator : EMAG

Please send me the files too.....

Regards - Colin

PS - there is a shareware utility called FileTyper which is very
useful for this kind of thing

If Lee is on a Mac, just adding a DOS extension doesn't always identify
a file as belonging to a certain app. Often the file has to have the
right Type/Creator code to work. with the application.

Dave Eager

btw the type/creator for evp88 presets is EMAG/EM95

oops, I stand corrected EM9S/EMAG is correct.

TechTool Lite is freeware [the successor to TechTool] and now has neat
features like file typing. Though FileTyper is great if you want to make
a drag and drop filetyping utility for specific types.

Still confused still trying. The folders I have are all called Electra piano
etc.
How many presets do you have as standard with evp?
Lee
I am using a mac with 4.7.3

33 presets in total
Why don't you just re-install from the CD?

You're not using a crack are you.........?????

Colin

PS - how about posting those patches?

Lee Jones wrote:

Hmmmm. Maybe they're also cracks?

Re: [exs] EVP 88 extra patches = PRESETS

2001-10-17 by Colin Shapiro

Lee,

Thanks for the file, but these are simply the preset patches that
come with the EVP88. Seeing that you found them on Hotline, they
probably accompany a crack of the EVP88.

Nothing new here.
Maybe you should try to remember where you found all this, so that
Emagic can start a lawsuit.

If you have a legal version, sorry.
If not.......

Regards - Colin

And the presets are inside those folders.

There are two sests of presets in EVP88, the ones you get from the menu
which are in those folders. And the ones you get from the big selector
knob, which are built in , so there is no preset file for them.
