I'd like to know what people are running with the EXS and LAMP 4.7. I've got a G4 450 with 512 Ram and I can get about 16-18 tracks with about 6 EXSs and 2 EVPs and about 10 plugins before I start stuttering, failing, etc. I'm keeping the buffer low to reduce latency but without moving to say the Powercore or UAD card or a faster processor I don't know how I'm going to get more out of it. Hi Your machine is serving you well. I have G3 300 running 4.7.3 and can say mine will do exactly as yours but fucks up at about 13 audio tracks. I have an Echo Gina card. Enjoy Lee [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Don't know how many audio tracks I can get, but I've had 7 or 8 VST instruments with about 10 VST plugs of various DSP-sucking weight, without dropouts. That's about the razor's edge, though. I max out on about every 4th song I write, and have to do some bouncing. ------------------------- Apple PowerBook G3 400Mhz Mac OS 9.2 Logic Audio Platinum 4.7 384 MB of Ram (50MB dedicated to Logic) Digigram VX Pocket sound card (driver 2.6.0) Opcode MIDIport 32 with OMS 2.3.8 ------------------------- Jer Olsen, President http://MusicBootCamp.com/ "We give musicians the edge!"

Can anyone tell me how I connect Reason into Logic? I am running 4.7.3 and my machine is well capable of the task. Do I need something called Re-wire? And if so how do I use it? It's spelled out in detail in the Reason PDF file...in a user friendly way. Check that out and then come back with some detailed questions if you still haven't gotten it. Neil Goldstein Portland, Oregon

I'm also curious about real-world reports with EXS using ESB/TDM.... # Instances of EXS? Latency? Recommended RAM? Hard drive issues? Anything else? thanks for any opinions... -Paul ......................................................... Paul Gorman / Duff Studios. http://www.duffstudios.com exs-users@yahoogroups.com wrote:

My setup is this G3 300 OS 9.1 And also can Neil Goldstein please explain what he is talking about regarding Reason, as I have no idea what PDF document you are talking about or where I might find it. Its right on the Reason CD Rom. And it should have installed in your Reason folder on your Mac when you installed Reason. Double click the document, which I believe is called Manual.PDF and it should open. There's a chapter dedicated to Rewire. Neil Goldstein Portland, Oregon

I write using the plugins so it's not like I track lots of tracks and then say okay now I'll mix it. I'm mixing from the moment I'm writing because the plugins influence how a track will sound. Ditto. But you could increase the buffer during the final Bounce/Audio dump.

I'm mixing from the moment I'm writing because the > plugins influence how a track will sound. > i hear you, i used to work like this. but at some point you will know what plug suits you best on the material. i then bounce, simply to be able to use more plugs. i found that dividing your work (ie building a song or whatever) in smaller steps is good practice. i keep old songs, but make new ones with bounces plugs. to get power for mixdown and new ideas. this keep me from endless tweaking, which is no good. adrian .................................................................. ..........AdrianVacca............................................. .........CiViLReVoLTaGe........................................... ..........SignaturMusik........................................... .......Amsterdam, Holland......................................... ........+31(0)206982300........................................... ..................................................................
