AKAI screwed up conversion
2000-10-13 by rpalagy@nyc.rr.com
I am running the EXS in my LAMP 4.1.5 on my G4 and trying to convert my S1000/3000 library. I take a CD - a 32 meg piano disk for example. It loads fine into my S3000. When I convert and play a program in the EXS I get the pitches completely wrong! Some things are an octave up, some are not. When you play up the keyboard you get some extremely screwed up scale. There's no prefs for pitch offsets and disabling pitch or changing volumes on all keygroups at once (that I can find.) Still I wonder why this conversion is wrong. Note that this is NOT a mixed mode cd but a stock AKAI disk. I did convert some simple drum kits successfully though. This was a larger program and it was true stereo with files labled .L and .R. I don't know if these are any clues.... Thanks, Ray Palagy, NYC
