Ray,

Send your disc or a copy of it to Emagic Germany attention to Clemens
Homburg, describing the problem. They've been very good about improving the
conversion. It just takes a little time to get it right!

As a matter of interest Eric are the Groove Control CD Roms converting ok in

Phil Buckle.

Yes, the S-3000 format (including our Groove Control products and Vocal
Planet), are working fine since the 4.5.1 update.

A little hint to EXS crowd, try boosting the Output Level up to 0db after
converting from AKAI CD-ROMs. This sounds MUCH better for drums and grooves
(and most sounds actually). This parameter is ONLY on the Controls page and
not on the standard Editor panel. The EXS defaults at -12db which sounds much
thinner than necessary. Future EXS versions may have a headroom parameter
adjustable from the Akai conversion page to save the hassle of currently
having to tweak and resave every current Instrument.

Backbeat will hopefully be out before years end. Vocal Planet epic 5 CD-ROM
set finally finished and shipping very soon!

Yes, GC work fine. The retro funk is lots of fun. The click problem was
resolved with an upgrade about a month ago. Oddly, the solution was in the
v4.5.1 update of Logic. There is (was?) no direction to this solution from
any of the ESX windows of the emagic.de website. This may also be the
solution to the tuning problem as well.

Still haven't sent disc but found that my old 1991 Lightwave AKAI
CD's load ok into EXS even though they seem not to be able to
see every partition. I would love Emagic to reply to this post as
Dave Smith in U.S. says he has never heard about this problem
and clearly I am not the only user with this problem! Note that I
am using a Sweetwater purchased version of EXS - NO "kracks".
