EXS 24 Logic Sampler Users Group

This is a cross-post from LUG, so I apologise in advance for any 
duplication.

Okay, 

I can't put up with it anymore. It takes me anywhere from 2 to 5 
minutes to load a song that incorporates EXS 24 samples. I'm 
left staring at the screen wondering if my computer has crashed.

Is there something that can be done to quicken the load time? 
Songs that I made before I got EXS 24 load almost 
instananeously. I have about 18 CDs worth of sample 
instruments (mostly Samplecell conversions) in my EXS sample 
folder. 

Now, EXS 24 is more of a tyrannical hindrance than a help. Now 
closing and re-opening songs introduces long waits. I'm no 
longer able to audition songs - it takes ten minutes to open and 
close just 3 or 4 songs. Even Unity-DS 1 only takes a couple of 
seconds to load its banks.

Is it possible to disable EXS from searching for instruments on a 
song by song basis? Will Logic 5 end this unacceptable delay to 
my work flow end?

OS 9.2.1
G4/400 (AGP) w/ 576 MB RAM
MOTU 2408 MK II
EXS24/EVP88/ES1

I know, there should be an option to load sounds through an ordinary dialog
easily accessible from the front page of EXS. In this dialog there should be
samples and instruments showing to the left and samples used by any selected
instrument, to the right, with the ability to prelisten any sample through
sound manager by hitting the space bar on/off.

This way we can more easily select EXS instruments that are backed up to
another drive.
