You have to burn the AKAI image separately on a new CD. I have used CD-COPY
for Mac to do this sort of thing.

How to convert AO disk 5 to exs using ANY tool.

2001-12-13 by Eric Doggett

Hi all -

I just picked up Advanced Orchestra disk 5 (percussion and harp) in akai
format for my logic setup (on a mac). I am trying to convert it, but
Logic Audio won't read it in the conversion window. I suspect this is
because track one is an audio demo track, so it sees the whole cdrom as
a music cd.

I also tried installing the demo version of Translator on my machine,
but it too, refused to see an Akai format cdrom in the drive.

I think there have been posts referencing this before, but can anyone
point me in the right direction?

Many thanks in advance!

Hi Eric -

Yes it has been discussed but no Worries.
Two solutions:

1....and this one doesn't work for me but does work for Mr Tobin (I guess
he's just charmed!)...

Make sure you have v1.3.9 of the Apple CD.DVD Driver installed.

or...

2...Use a CD Copying programme such as CD Copy to extract the Akai session
of the multformat CD, create a disk image of it and burn that to a new
CD...hey presto an Akai format CD. This is what I have to do....long winded
but it cooks whilst I'm catching up with life!

I'm a little confused - do you have a Mac or/and PC? If PC, what OS?

If PC (with Translator that would have to be), then the common issue is
ASPI. See the Help file for Translator, or see
www.chickensys.com/translator/misc/aspi.html for the full scoop on ASPI.

If you are referring to Mac, then I'm sure people will post the solution (I
think getting an update version of the CD driver?).

I guess I must be charmed, but if anyone wants a copy of that driver, which
works for me, email me privately and I am happy to send it on...Mr Tobin!!!!
God that's formal.

Cheers Mr Howard.

Best Wishes
