EXS 24 Logic Sampler Users Group

hello,

i've recently bought the logic gold exs24 bundle for the mac, and am finding it quite hard to get my head round everything at once to be honest!

anyway, i have some free multisamples from a few uk magazine, and I'm trying to figure out how best to create a patch for them.

if i have a multisample of one octave of an instrument, how do i map this across a whole keyspan? there seem to be several different ways to do it, but i'm not sure which would be the better choice. and sadly i don't have enough time on my hands to experiment, or rather i'd rather experiment with other things!!

any tips would be gratefully received!

In the zone section of the "edit" page, click and drag the samples upper
range limit to the max, and the lower range limit to the lowest note. My
apology for the loose terminology. Usually when I respond to these posts, I
am not in my studio with easy access to Logic. If you don't know what the
zone and edit pages are, refer to your manual index or table of contents. If
you are dealing with more than one sample, the easiest way to set up the
instrument is to set each sample at it's proper pitch with the ranges set to
their accurate keys only. Then stretch the low range down a half step and
the upper range to a whole step below the next sample in the set. Then do
the same with the next sample up the keys. I find that the half-step-down
and max up is the most natural sounding. Dropping multisamples a whole step
or more down really harms realism. I've built many kit's off of online
sample kits. The samples them selves have the correct key pitch included in
the individual file names. I know this is sketchy, but its the best
explanation I can give under the circumstances. For links to a ton of raw
