I dont use aol so I dont know for sure if you can do this.
go and download an ftp client. cute ftp or bulletproof ftp are quite
good for pc. I use fetch on a mac.
try download.com for a trial. 

As far as how to use it, what can i say.... read the help files.
it isnt rocket science though. if you can use logic, or the exs etc then
you should be ok.

put in an ip address and connect.

you should be able to connect *eventually*. The site (ftp.akairo.co.uk)
has a maximum of 100 user limit.
You will get an error message such as you have been getting.

I can download from within explorer on a PC. I am currently doing so at
something like 50 bytes a second (very slow).
Be paitient.

If you read the entire thread someone has already explained this and
mentioned where and how to download. Search the message archive on
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/exs-users/ that's what it is there for! You're
lucky anyone replied to you at all, AOL-supporter. You realize you're going
to hell now don't you?
