Soundfont to exs converter

Soundfont to exs converter

2000-12-06 by rafapla@ctv.es

I found a program that converts *.sf2 to *.exs files.

I show you the readme file in the instalation file:

SF2EXS (SoundFont-EXS24 converter)
==================================
by SoundWare

ProgramVersion: 0.53 BETA 3
Release Date : 15/8-2000.
Author: Mikael Persson

Installation:
=============
Run Setup.exe

Description:
============
This application was designed to convert SoundFont2-files (.SF2) to
the
file format used by Emagic's EXS24 software sampler.

How to use
==========
* Open a SoundFont from the "File | Open" menu.
* Select the Presets you want to convert by checking the check-box in
  front of the presets.
* Click the "Convert" Button.

Each SF2-Preset will result in an EXS24 Instrument. Each Layer in a
SF2
will result in an EXS24-Group.

NOTE! If you are running Logic at the time of cenversion, the exported
presets will *not* automatically appear in the EXS24 list of
instruments.
There are two ways of making them appear:
1) Close Logic and restart it.
2) Open the exported files in the EXS24-editor. This must be done for
each
   exported file.

* Auditioning
The Layers in the currently selected preset will be shown in the
"Layers in Preset" list-box. You can the see the samples associated
with
a Layer by selecting that Layer. If the checkbox "Autoplay selected
sample" is checked, you can audition the samples by selecting one in
the "Samples in Layer/Instrument".

The EXS24 instrument definitions are saved to the path shown in
"Sampler instrument path". For Logic v 4.5 this should be in
installation
folder of Logic. The application will try to find your installation
path,
but you should check so it is correct. The extracted audio files (WAV)
are saved to the path shown in "Audio file path". This can be an
arbitrary
path, but defaults to the a directory calle "Audio Files", in your
installation
folder of Logic.
