There's also an other big advantage on using VSM, even if you don't deal
with big samples: when browsing through your EXS patches, you don't have to
wait for them to load completely in RAM: you select and play nearly right
away! I think this is very useful, and makes ESX a sort of ROM-preset
player!

Has anyone who only uses LAWP 4.8.1 got this VSM extension going. 
The directions that come with it talk about "general settings" etc -- no
such location in LAWP 4 AFAIK.

I´ve looked for it also. As a sidenote to it I put the vsm.dll in my 
Logic folder and this evening I´ve been mixing a song and started to 
add some more exs and ended up with 14 inkluding many fx on every 
cha. I also had 12 audio tracks both st and mono with many plugins. I 
dont think I´ve had so many before, so maybe something happened. This 
is on a PIII 800 with 384mbram. Still the "General settings tab" is 
missing tho :-)

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
