[exs] Importing .sf2 files

[exs] Importing .sf2 files

2002-02-20 by Arthur Perkins

Hi all,

Here's a question:

I'm trying to import a soundfont file into the EXS24 by going into
'options' and selecting 'import soundfont file' but nothing happens.

Anybody got any ideas?

thanks,

Arthur

Its one of those rare instances where its easier than you even *think* it
is.

Move the *.sf2 files into the Sampler Instruments folder which resides in
same level as the Logic folder. It will appear in your instrument list and
EXS converts it on the fly when you load it.

I did exactly that but I get a message that the .sf2 file is not an exs file.

Hi Arthur

I've experienced that from time to time and I interpret it as "For
some reason EXS doesn't recognize this as a valid .SF2 file and
therefor cannot translate it into .EXS format." If none of your .SF2
files are recognized then there may be another problem but I have
translated lots of .SF2 files and have only run into this very few
times.

Kind regards,

Soren

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
