RE:latency

RE:latency

I have PIII500, 128MB, RME Hammerfall Lite and this system is working
great. Using the ASIO driver I have 6ms latency with total reliability.
The last project I worked on had 10 audio tracks, 2*ES1 and 3*Exs24
instruments. Using from 1 to 5 plugins on each track, goldverb and delay on
bus 1 & 2. The CPU usage is 60-70% and I can easily jam along the mix on
any of my soft-synths.

To tell you the truth I have not been able to wipe the smile off my face
since I got the RME card. :)

I would like to hear what other folks system's are, and the amount of
lag/latency they are experiencing. I have a p2-300 gina card driver vers.
5.01. I now have 512meg of ram. I still have a bit of lag....as if the
samples have a short fade in....will this go away once I get a p3?

latency

2003-02-04 by dweizmann <dweizmann@aol.com>

i am triggering an exs24 in logic that is playing back through a vx
pocket and there are a few milliseconds of latency that are making it
very hard to play.

does anybody know how to correct latency with exs24?

thanks in advance!

What's a few? 3ms should be decent enough to play but I doubt you can get
that out of the VX Pocket anyway. It's why I sold mine. 6ms or more and
you'll definitely feel the delay. This is going on all the time with the VX.
You're just noticing it more because you are playing it live. -Jer
