reopening exs
2002-03-19 by Kurt Heinecke
Actually, what I was trying to describe is a bit different- when I open one song, I close another, but with both using the same exs instruments, is there a way I don't have to reload all the instruments again...a way to, in a sense, keep exs open to the same patches while opening a new logic song? Anybody else doing this? Thanks. kurt To be more specific, when two songs are open with a lot of DSP pumping in each song, the screen draw can really slow down. At least, I've seen this happen on a G4-400 Mac. It adds a lot of load to the CPU. You may have to put up with the close & open process if your experiencing performance problems with both songs open. You can open your system performance monitor to see how much load is on the CPU once you load one and then the other song. I imagine the meter will jump up a bit as a result. You could try allocating more RAM to Logic if your on a Mac. -Jer > From: <HELP@...> > Reply-To: exs-users@yahoogroups.com > Date: Tue, 19 Mar 2002 04:55:18 -0500 > To: <exs-users@yahoogroups.com> > Subject: Re: [exs] Reopening exs > > Yes, it makes a big difference. > >> From: "Kurt Heinecke" <kurt.heinecke@...> >> Reply-To: exs-users@yahoogroups.com >> Date: Mon, 18 Mar 2002 21:54:59 -0600 >> To: exs-users@yahoogroups.com >> Subject: [exs] Reopening exs >> >> I've set up an orchestra template with hundreds of megs of instruments. >> I'm using the same set up for multiple projects, often jumping between >> projects in an evening.
