If you own the library and the license to use it you can do it..

This would be true for use of, but not for sharing. Unless that was allowed
in the original agreement (I would be surprised if allowed).

Fine for personal but not for sharing.

It's perfectly legal to share tweaked .exs instruments, just not the
converted .wav/.aif files, for commercially available libraries, isn't it?

E.g. if there's a famous $500+ sample CD out there that has great string
samples but they each are in their own separate instrument, it's perfectly
legal for one of us to build uber-patches combining several articluations
etc and distribute the tweaked .exs file... right? (of course this would be
more useful once there are velocity sensitive crossfades again)

Someone else would actually have to buy/convert the actual sample CD to make
use of the .exs instrument (unless they just wanted to use the GUI settings
with a different instrument or something)... It seems like this would be
legal to me?

Just making sure,
Jeremy

Yes...no problem.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
