Layering sounds in EXS24 quickly.

Layering sounds in EXS24 quickly.

PC.WIN2K.
Hi all,
What I would like to do is a quick way to audition 2 different sounds
together, say, take a exs24 string sound and add a exs24 piano sound
to it. I just want to audition and try different sounds together to
hear what they sound like. Or is there any way I can play 2 seperate
EXS24s in Logic?
Also anyone know where I can get a EXS24 honky tonk piano, royalty
free.
Many thanks in advance,
Allan,

Currently the best workaround is to use the instrument editor to make a new
layered or split instrument out of the two instruments you want to work
with. Just select all the zones and groups you want to be in the combined
instrument and paste them to make a new combined instrument. It helps if
you have the separate sound layers associated with groups so you can
balance the volume of each sound. This can be done quickly if you know
your way around the editor.

The easy combination of sounds into layers and splits that hardware
workstations and modules have offered for 15 years or more is not yet
available on the EXS24 -- perhaps there will be some developments with
this in the forthcoming Logic 5.2, I don't know.

Murray

No way at present that I know of to play more than one VSTi in Logic.
You could consider using CDXtract to quickly create a new layered
sound (http://www.cdxtract.com/)

Otherwise just record a sequence, copy, and playback using 2 EXS24's
