Editing samples in EXS24

Editing samples in EXS24

2002-06-24 by Sumit Das

Maybe I'm being dense, but if I have created an EXS24 instrument with a lot (~50) of samples
in it, is there an easy way to pop the sample from a given zone into the sample editor?

Or do I just have to note the filename, load it into the audio window, and then doubleclick on
it there? That does not seem like very good integration to me, hopefully there is a better
way.

Also, is there a way to do the reverse, that is, grab an audio file from the audio window and
drag it into the EXS24 editor to create a zone?

    Thanks, smeet

Yeah -- see the little E in the window in the zone's box in the editor --
click on that and it automatically opens the zone in the Sample Editor --
if you have a loop there is a second E for opening up to edit the loop zone.

Dunno -- never tried. I always use "add multiple samples" if I am building
an instrument.

Murray

Err, uhm... just click the "E" on the zone and it will load into the sample
editor automatically.

No, unfortunately, that'd be very cool.

Thanks a lot Sascha and Murray, I'm glad to know I was just being stupid... Did I miss that in the manual?
I'm sorry, I should have RTF thing more thoroughly...

But as long as I'm asking stupid questions, how do I pan each (mono) sample
to its own stereo position? I couldn't see anything under either zones
or groups.

Thanks,

You gotta activate pan under the view menu first to see that option.
