Hi folks
When I load a sound from an EXS or Akai library, one shot works as I
expect it to, i.e. when checked the sample plays through to the end,
and when not checked stops playing on key release. But when I make
an instrument myself, in this case from .aiff files, all the samples
play through to the end even when one shot is unchecked. Is there
something else affecting this, or is it a glitchette? Regards Brian

Hi Brian,
you probably have to "save" and reload your "Instrument" to make it works
properly...
( I submitt an idea :o)

Whither EXSP24?

2002-07-07 by Murray McDowall

Hi everybody,

My understanding of the EXSP24 is that it simply plays back the EXS24's
instruments. I don't know whether the interface has the more recent
improvements (Logic 4.x) in file selection and SF2 playback. A bunch of
further improvements to the EXS24 are due in 5.2. Will they make it across
to the EXSP24 -- obviously not anything to do with the Instrument editor
but what about the rest?

This thing is VST compatible but does it support multiple outputs properly
in Cubase and other VST hosts?
It is apparently not in a multitimbral form in Cubase-- Emagic.de talks
only about mulitple instances.

Given the removal of PC support by Apple -- how viable do you think this
VSTi is for the future -- just as a way of playing all the EXS24
instruments we have? These are the absolute staple of my work.

If I could easily translate them to Kontact that would be a way to go. The
instrument building facilities in Kontact (as far as I have acertained from
fooling with the demo) do not have the automatic features now in the EXS24
-- automapping etc. I would love to be wrong about this if anyone knows
otherwise.

Regards,
Murray

  Hi there!

This may be an obvious one, but are you sure the release fader on the exs front panel is not at full tilt (100%!) - ??? an simple observation - from a simple guy!! :-)
