'Automap' question

'Automap' question

2002-07-08 by golanalog

Hi EXSers,

So I've got my drum samples organized into folders in groups of
100 (the max number of samples allowed in an exs program).

I add multiple zones, add all, and then select 'Chromatic.' This
method almost gives me what I want. I'm just wondering if there
is quick way to adjust them so I don't have the last 8 samples
doubled up starting at C1 again.

I don't suppose there's a way to make them automatically start at
C0 when they map out? Or maybe a way to adjust all the zones
at the same time so I can 'slide' them all down?

Anyone know of a batch processing program that would assign
keynotes to all my files, then I could select automap and it would
read the note from the file? (actually gives me an idea: batch
rename the files with a keynote, but I'd rather not change my file
names.)

I've got a lot these to do and I'm trying to find a quick way to do it,
so I don't have to adjust the individual zones each time I create a
program.

Thanks for your help.

Just found the 'move zones incl. root key' command....

that'll do.

wait a minute....what version of Logic is this key command in?
(move zones including root key) I'm using 4.7.3 and I don't see it
in the key commands. Was it added in 4.8.1 or do I have to
upgrade to 5 to get this feature.

thanks.

Most people don't build kits with over 88 keys (the largest spread of any
controller keyboard). I would suggest you opt for 88 instead of 100.

If you insist on 100, setting a custom keyboard command to move selected
samples up or down while changing the root note at the same time. This is a
single key-command option in your custom key commands. Check under the EXS24
section. Select the samples you want, and move them up or down.

I'm pretty sure it was in 4.8... Should be a free upgrade on the Web site.
