Hi, i run logic on a G3 mac and i have over 5000 exs programs. It 
takes around 10 sec to scan them.

I *think* that on macs, EXS takes advantage of the file index that get built
by MacOS - the index is optimised for very quick file locating. Most
versions of windows until very recently dont have this sort of feature, and
even then I think applications dont have access to it, only the windows
search app. Don't quote me though ;-) ....

I have 35,720 instruments.it takes a while to load.

Yes, I also tried.. scan instrument duration depends on the number of 
instruments!
